Here are just a few reminders for you:
Autumn Term Topic - Egypt:
Our current topic for the Autumn term is Egypt. The children will be given opportunities to develop a range of skills as part of our exciting new topic!
We will also be completing an entrepreneurial project during the Autumn Term. Each class in
KS2 will be given a £30 budget in order to create their own class business. The children will develop a range of ICT, Literacy and Numeracy skills through creating their own class business. You will have an opportunity to view the products that the children have made on Wednesday 24th October at our Open Evening.
Our PE days are on a Monday afternoon and a Wednesday morning. Please make sure that your child brings a carrier bag for any dirty kit or sports trainers as it can often get very muddy at this time of the year.
Autumn Term (First Half):
Mr Jones' class - Gymnastics (Monday) and Football (Wednesday)
Miss Carrigan's Class - Football (Monday) and Swimming (Wednesday)
Autumn Term (Second Half)
Mr Jones' class - Netball (Monday) and Swimming (Wednesday)
Miss Carrigan's Class - Gymnastics (Monday) and Netball (Wednesday)
Snack money is 20p per day (£1 for a full week). This needs to come into school on the first day of the school week to ensure your child receives their snack. Please send this in a named money bag or an envelope. You may also pay half termly if you find this easier.
Dinner money is also due in on a Monday for the week ahead. This also needs to be in a named envelope stating which days lunch is required.
Reading folders are sent home each day with your child. It is so important that children get the chance to read and share their books with you at home. For every two 10 minute reads done at home, your child will be rewarded with 500 reading miles and travel around the world!
In Year 3, the children will enjoy taking part in the 10 minute mile. Each afternoon, the children are given the opportunity to run as far as they can in a 10 minute period, with the target being a mile. Lot's of fun in a non competitive environment!
ClassDojo is a website that we use in a variety of ways. You can access it online or by downloading an app. Each child has their own avatar and they earn points for different things e.g. working hard, reading at home, good manners etc. If they earn 10 points or more in a week they will earn a merit point!
We post information for parents of our individual classes as a Class Story. We can also send individual messages to parents if we need to send a quick reminder or message about something.
