Welcome to Year 3!

Hello and welcome to Year 3!

We aim to use the website to keep you informed of our exciting activities throughout the year. We will be adding information about topics and upcoming events and also photographs of the lovely things the children have been doing!

Team Members:

Miss D Carrigan (Class Teacher)

Mr J Jones (Class Teacher)

Mrs S Wooding (Teaching Assistant)

Mrs J Jones (Teaching Assistant)
Mrs Hird (LSW)

Here are just a few reminders for you:

The Healthy Human Body:

Our current topic for the Spring term is the Healthy Human Body. We will be learning how to keep our bodies fit and healthy, as well as looking at how the body works.

Our PE days are on a Monday afternoon and a Wednesday morning. Please make sure that your child brings a carrier bag for any dirty kit or sports trainers as it can often get very muddy at this time of the year.

Snack money is 20p per day (£1 for a full week). This needs to come into school on the first day of the school week to ensure your child receives their snack. Please send this in a named money bag or an envelope. You may also pay half termly if you find this easier.

Dinner Money:

Dinner money is also due in on a Monday for the week ahead. This also needs to be in a named envelope stating which days lunch is required.

Reading folders are sent home each day with your child. It is so important that children get the chance to read and share their books with you at home. For every two 10 minute reads, your child will be rewarded with 500 reading miles and travel around the world!

Daily Mile:

In Year 3, the children will enjoy taking part in the 10 minute mile. Each morning, the children are given the opportunity to run as far as they can in a 10 minute period, with the target being a mile. Lot's of fun in a non competitive environment!

Class Dojo:

ClassDojo is a website that we use in a variety of ways. You can access it online or by downloading an app. Each child has their own avatar and they earn points for different things e.g. working hard, reading at home, good manners etc. If they earn 10 points or more in a week they will earn a merit point!

We post information for parents of our individual classes as a Class Story. We can also send individual messages to parents if we need to send a quick reminder or message about something.
