Blwyddyn 2

Croeso i Flwyddyn 2!

Welcome to Year 2!

Hello and welcome to Year 2.

We aim to use the website to keep you informed of our exciting activities throughout the year.

We will be adding exciting information about topics and upcoming events and also photographs of the lovely things the children have been doing!

Here are just a few reminders for you:

Our PE days are on a Wednesday afternoon and a Friday morning but the children's PE kits can be brought into school on a Monday and left on their own pegs, as we encourage physical activity throughout the week.

Snack money is 20p per day (£1 for a full week), this needs to come into school on the first day of the school week to ensure your child receives their snack. Please send this in a named money bag or an envelope.

Dinner money is also due in on a Monday for the week ahead, this also needs to be in a named envelope stating what days lunch is required.

Reading folders are sent home each day with your child, if possible can you send it back into school each day. It is so important that children get the chance to read and share their books with you at home so please try to do this in short bursts whenever possible.

Also can you check your child's folder as we usually put any letters that need to go home inside.

Miss Shaw, Mr Godwin and the Year 2 team :-)

Newspaper Reporters

In Year 2 we have been reading The Snail and the Whale by Julia Donaldson and conducting interviews to research for our own newspaper reports!

On St. David's day we had yummy welsh cakes! We decided to share these with some dinosaurs using the phrase 'Dw i eisiau tri chwarter cacen cymraeg os gwelwch yn dda'. We practised writing the amounts as a fraction too!

Instruction writing. The children have been learning how to write clear instructions using ‘bossy verbs’. They have used these skills to write instructions for using our painting area.
